Well... everything is up in the air... again...

Hello everyone! I have to make up for my last email because it was pretty abysmal. This week was probably one of the most stressful of my entire mission. We didn't have confirmation on if our friend was getting baptized until Saturday morning! So we RUSHED to get all the things done. We got the program finalized and contacted who we needed to contact. Did some damage control and checking and rechecking things and then on Sunday we had to give some talks in sacrament meeting about missionary work and that was actually really cool because a bunch of our friends came and were excited to see us, and of course you know we wrote the talk the morning of. Situated all of our friends for 2nd hour. That was actually cool. And then after we rushed making some cookies then printed out the program and set up the chairs and then started confirming with people. We asked our friend getting baptized to show up a half hour early so we can finish his baptismal/member record stuff ...

cool week

Samuel Shumway   < shumway.samuel@missionary.org > Mon, Dec 8, 6:15 PM (8 days ago) to bcc:  me Welcome back to my Email, here is my Email! It was a good week this week. Had an awesome exchange with Elder Nielson and we actually went to the same high school! We found this girl named Kyra this week and came to church this week and wants to bring her husband too, however, he's not religious so we'll work on him. Our friend Collin had his baptismal interview and is getting batpized on Dec 14th. Our friend Gary is also working towards Dec 21st. Got to meet Julio who has been an awesome member to the Spanish Elders and he was super awesome! This guy named Tyler, who we had a 2 minute conversation with, texted us out of the blue and asked if we could meet with him 20 minutes later on a Saturday. He ended up coming to church the next day too and he knew some members! Hope everyones having and awesome week!

interviews+temple trip

This week me and my companion walked past this dumpster and there was a sign next to it that my companion read outloud and it said "Dumpster Rules". I then said "yeah it does!". Pretty funny moment. This week we were able to have interviews so that was fun. We were also able to go to the temple and i got to do sealings for the first time in a while and it was really awesome to seal families together for eternity! A couple random memories from this past week are a poor man who was probably trying to say "proselyting" told us we can't be prostituting... interesting guy. Bless his soul. Our friend Gary will call us a lot and tell us about his day. He originally wanted to read the bible only but then he told us that he looked up the Book of Mormon and learned some really cool stuff about its discovery and how it's a lot like the Bible. So i guess Gary wants to read the Book of Mormon now which is awesome. We also have a friend who fed us ribs and it wa...

rain is good

So it rained a lot this week and it was pretty awesome. We actually found a lot of people in the rain, probably because they took pity on us. Also happy Birthday to my Sister! So on Monday night we had District Council and there a small portion where we call some of our friends that we teach and we put our friend Sean on date! he didn't come to church this week but they important thing is it's on his mind! Talked to a really cool YSA aged person and they told us they've been dating a member for like 5 years and we asked if they want to join the church and they were like "yeah sure" so we got their info and sent over to the YSA sisters. We did service for this lady who had probably the fluffiest dog I have ever seen. The dog was named Luna. We had our friend Joyce call us 30 minutes before church started and she asked for a ride... she ended up coming and sat by an awesome member and loved church so that was cool. Joyce is an old lady who has problems with her me...
