Elder Sam Shumway

Its pretty crazy how so many things happen during the day and then on monday you forget so much! I have a lot of things written in my journal but not a ton of worthwhile things to mention. I had a really cool exchange this week with my Zone Leader, Elder Scanlan. The reason it was so fun was we were able to put 2 people on date for baptism. One of them was fully in spanish but i was able to contribute in small ways (I have really bad spanish but I try). At the end of that day we got milkshakes and it was such a blessing! We also have this member in our ward who gives us a paper of memes everytime we come over. Here's on of my favorites! We have a tradition in our mission where everyone goes to panda Express on the Friday before transfers and your fortune reads into your next transfer. Heres mine. 

Yes yes. I did hit 18 months. Crazy.  Update of life is I'm still here in Thousand Oaks with Elder Olson and don't look at my tempature if you're in the south or on the east coast! You'll be really sad.  California is so blessed. It kinda blew my mind this week how our sink disposal stopped working and our fridge stopped getting cold and all we had to do was make a phone call and it was fixed in a few days.  On Tuesday we met this really cool guy named Mark. He runs underwater stress test training for the military and one of the things he was explaining to us was how they train people who go underwater by having them "have an emotional response" (fight or flight instinct kick in and they think they're gonna die) and have them think clearly and rationally. He also had this really cool Irish accent and was jacked and told us he really wants to be a good dad. He was also holding his baby who just stared at us the entire time.
