Yo como MANZANAS!!!

First off, thank you to everyone who sent me emails this week. It was such a blessing. I leave the MTC on Wednesday at 3:37 AM! My districts been awesome and im really gonna miss them. When you aren't by any of your friends and family the people around almost become like family. Thank you to my district I'm gonna miss you guys ðŸ˜¥. 


On Tuesday we had a devotional. And guess who casually walks in as the main speaker? ELDER DAVID A BEDNAR!!!! I'm literally thinking this'll be the most spiritual experience I'll ever have so I'm writing down so much. When he gets up to talk he says something like "please don't take a lot notes because you probably won't go back and read them". He compares our notes to the Book of Mormon in a way that there's the small plates and big plates and how our notes should be the small plates in the way that we should write our spiritual impressions down. It was an amazing experience that night! 

We also got to go to the temple a couple times this week and we sang hymns on the bus which may sound weird but when your an under stimulated 18 year old missionary it sounds like a BLAST! 

This week was probably a little rougher then last week. I got really frustrated one day and didn't talk but during branch council another zone leader said something really impactful. He said "we weren't perfect but it was a great week" and it really put in perspective how not everything's gonna be perfect but if I focus on other things then I understand that I really did have one of the best weeks of my life. 

I'm still growing my testimony and finding so many impactful things in the scriptures. Me and my companion are getting along really well and we get really interesting questions about the scriptures and then we answer them as best we can. I was really thankful for when we had a Helping Others appointment (basically a role play with an actor where you teach lessons) when our friend, Mathias, asks us a rather hard question but me and Elder Larsen were on top of immediately. 

I hope I have another great week and im thankful for all the prayers you guys send me. Thank u

Hey yall! We had a week full of ups and downs. God is always out here looking out for us, sending us good times.  Last Monday we had the 1st counselor in the mission presidency come and sit on our district council and he took some time in the beginning to talk to us about straight up oral hygiene. He's a semi-retired dentist and brought us all toothbrushes, floss, and tongue scrapers. I had never used a tongue scraper before and I doubt that I'll ever go back. On Wednesday I had an exchange with one of my Zone Leaders and he changed my perspective on how I treat my companion and how I should go about doing work. We got to find a few people that day and extend 4 baptismal dates to our friends. I pray that they all stick to their commitments. This week we also got to stop by some members who had been going through some tough times the past few months with the Sister having to go through open heart surgery. what happened this week...

hey... everyone.. im here in california... talking about Jesus with everyone.. hope everyone had a great week! yeah but i don't remember what happened this week. i met like a ton of atheists this week... like probably more than my entire mission combined. it's interesting because you get so used to always talking about God and helping people grow their faith but your brain goes blank when you can't really do that. It reminds about how King Lamoni was taught. A little update on teaching side of things. Our friend Matthew is on date for the 16th so please prayer for him. We also have about 4 people we want to invite to be baptized this week.  oh yeah! im also in a trio right now because someone in my district had to get Emergency Transferred and our new companion is a spanish missionary so that means i got to go to spanish ward and i understood about 30% about what was happening so that was cool. today we went on a hike for our district activity and then went to c...

NEW STUFF

So I have been transferred to Conejo Canyon in the Zone of Newbury Park. I have been in this area before on exchanges so it's cool to be back here and we are on bikes half of the time! I am follow up training Elder Feilzer who was trained by my trainer so we are brothers in the mission but also a parent to him. He is funny. Knows a lot but also doesn't. He's good. I did probably smell the most amount of weed I have ever smelt on the mission this week so that was cool... I am also in a apartment with 4 missionaries.
