Me no mucho Espanol hablar
Yo what's up! This week's been great. Woke up at 3 am to get on a plane and get to Cali by 11. I slept most of the bus/train/tram/plane ride (yes I did take all those). We then met our mission president and his wife, President Rodriguez and Sister Rodriguez. They are so nice! President gave us all hugs and always had a smile. If you can tell by the name he's a short Mexican man with the kindest heart and a really thick accent. I was one of 17 new missionaries to the mission.
When we got to the mission home we ate lunch. We had to wait for 6 Spanish elders from the Mexico mtc to come so they had us walk laps around the church building and talk to all the trainers. Me and Elder Larsen started talking to and Elder Marsigli and an Elder Butler. We finally all sat down to have a little meeting and then we FINALLY got our trainers announced. Elder Larsens name go called and he ended up being in a trio with Elder Marsigli who we were talking to (adios to the best mtc comp). And then my name gets called and I stand up and my trainer who they call is ELDER BUTLER! It was such a crazy miracle.
Elder Butler and me get along great. He's only been on the mission for 6 weeks so we're basically leanring together. He's been a great help in knowing what to do.
One cool thing about Paso Robles is there are such INTERESTING people out here. There's a Ton of wineries around here and all the land is so beautiful. Paso Robles is also the hottest part of the mission so ig I'll never escape the heat
.
. We go tracting a lot and one thing you run into is "no Ingles". My comp knows how to introduce us and ask if we can call our friends who speak Spanish (the Spanish elders). When I tried to copy him at one door I end up saying "me no mucho Español hablar" which actually translates to "my no a lot of Spanish understand" after we get told no and move on my companion tells we I said and we start dying laughing. I hope I pick up some more Spanish
.
. People are so nice here. I haven't been yelled at yet which is pretty cool.
Idk what else to put in this email. Everything that's happened is so new and im so thankful for the opportunity to serve a mission. I'm already learning so many things and am getting so many story that I can share after the mission.
I'm running out of time to write this email so if I remember anything cool I'll put it in my next email!
THANK YOU TO ALL FOR READING MY EMAIL!!!
