Chapter 20

ok. so. A LOT of stuff went down this week! 


-On monday I bought a pair of jeans and a tie for a birthday gift and got to open my birthday package with my parents.

-Talked to a guy in the Target parking lot who knew a member in one of my last areas. He wasn't interested at first but we just started talking about who he knows and he commented about how the members son had passed. Then we started talking about the after life and I got to share with him a clearer view of our theology and then he wanted to talk about Grace and Works. fun convo.

-So we got a referral for this guy named craig last week and he was weird at first but then a few days later he wanted to meet. Me and Elder Murset went back on forth on if we should call one of our members whos REALLY good at finding out stuff about people. Finally, that morning we reached out to her and a little while later we got a call and the member said "how did you know?"... turns out the dude had done some bad things. so yeah. we didn't meet with him.

- another missionary gave us a number for someone who was already being taught by the YSA but the dude was cool.

-Put our friend Pedro on date for the 12th.

-Turned 20 and one of the members through me a birthday party. Shoutout the Hursts!

-Thank you to everyone who wished me a happy birthday!!

-Had exchanges with Elder Colton. Talked to this pastor dude and the Holy Spirit (wind) moved the pages of the Book of Mormon that Elder Colton was holding and it flipped to the scritpture he was trying to find.

-Talked to our new convert Samantha and played catch with her kids.

-Had dinner with the Valeries and our friend Collin. Sad thing is Collin showed up a little buzzed from something.

-Helped our friend Tamera moved some stuff from her apartment.

-Then we had a phone call with this dude and we asked our member who can find stuff out and they called us back and this guy was also bad news. 

-To finish off the week a member tried role play bashing us. Interesting guy.

-Also got a little sick. Talked to this girl named Michelle. Found a cool bridge. got a hair cut by Elder Murset.

-Finally I heard President Nelson passed away and the shooting at the church. It's all very sad but I'm thankful for the Plan of Salvation.

what a week...

Hey yall! We had a week full of ups and downs. God is always out here looking out for us, sending us good times.  Last Monday we had the 1st counselor in the mission presidency come and sit on our district council and he took some time in the beginning to talk to us about straight up oral hygiene. He's a semi-retired dentist and brought us all toothbrushes, floss, and tongue scrapers. I had never used a tongue scraper before and I doubt that I'll ever go back. On Wednesday I had an exchange with one of my Zone Leaders and he changed my perspective on how I treat my companion and how I should go about doing work. We got to find a few people that day and extend 4 baptismal dates to our friends. I pray that they all stick to their commitments. This week we also got to stop by some members who had been going through some tough times the past few months with the Sister having to go through open heart surgery. what happened this week...

hey... everyone.. im here in california... talking about Jesus with everyone.. hope everyone had a great week! yeah but i don't remember what happened this week. i met like a ton of atheists this week... like probably more than my entire mission combined. it's interesting because you get so used to always talking about God and helping people grow their faith but your brain goes blank when you can't really do that. It reminds about how King Lamoni was taught. A little update on teaching side of things. Our friend Matthew is on date for the 16th so please prayer for him. We also have about 4 people we want to invite to be baptized this week.  oh yeah! im also in a trio right now because someone in my district had to get Emergency Transferred and our new companion is a spanish missionary so that means i got to go to spanish ward and i understood about 30% about what was happening so that was cool. today we went on a hike for our district activity and then went to c...

NEW STUFF

So I have been transferred to Conejo Canyon in the Zone of Newbury Park. I have been in this area before on exchanges so it's cool to be back here and we are on bikes half of the time! I am follow up training Elder Feilzer who was trained by my trainer so we are brothers in the mission but also a parent to him. He is funny. Knows a lot but also doesn't. He's good. I did probably smell the most amount of weed I have ever smelt on the mission this week so that was cool... I am also in a apartment with 4 missionaries.
