Ducks in the car
So this week we got to see some really cool miracles that God just dropped into our laps. Like some REALLY cool miracles.
TUESDAy
So tuesday morning we were having a lesson with our friend George at the church. Right before we start the lesson we see a college student walks to the door so i think *oh cool a YSA member*. Well I get up to go to talk to him and he says that he needs an interview. So I said "well our Bishop's not here right now but is there anything else we can do?" and he says... "I want to learn more about the Book of Mormon"... *wow okay so he's not YSA*, we got his phone number and told him we'd call him after out lesson. His name was Anson.
Well to continue with that miracle we continue to teach the Law of Tithing to George with ABSOLUTLEY NO ISSUE OR HESITATION GEORGE COMMITS TO IT! He in fact does the math and tells us "what is *x amount of dollar* to me when the Lord can use it better". Wow George. Crazy faith. He also told us some steps that he had taken the day before to separate himself from his anger and "bad thoughts". After the lesson he showed us his dog, Angus that was in the car and also his 2 ducks, Thor and Mallard. Thor had imprinted on George because he raised him so well so he just followed him around the parking lot.
Next Miracle, right when we finish Weekly Planning we get a text from some other Elders to reach out to this hospital. We call the hospital and they tell us that they have someone there who is requesting a blessing from us. So we drive to the hospital and we're lead through some hallways until we get to a metal door where they need to use a key card. On the door reads "Trauma Center" or something like that. At this point I feel definitely on edge.... well we walk through and we're led to this room where theres a young woman in a hospital bed with some cuts on her face. We could hear and see the heart beat monitor. We meet the dad who introduces himself as Brother Day. He gets some chairs for us in this cramped room and we start talking with him and his daughter. The young woman's name was Kaitlyn and as we're talking to her it's obvious that she's having a hard time breathing. We learn that she had gotten hit by a wave and had gotten hurt pretty bad. We start to ask her about her life and she shares that she had gotten of her mission only 3 WEEKS AGO! We asked where she served and she said Gilbert, Arizona. Exactly where i am from. We start to talk about how she got used to the heat and she knew where my high school was. We start talking to the dad and where the family is from. By that time the whole family comes back and there's about 9 people in this little room. Starting with the dad we were able to give them all blessings. From there countenances we could tell that this event was hard for each of them. Right when we had finished the nurse walks in and starts to talk to the parents. She informs them that they can take their daughter home probably tomorrow. Blessing must have worked pretty quickly there. Haha. It was super cool to get to serve in that way and they reached back out yesterday and told us they made it to their home in utah safely.
Had dinner with the McFarlands.
Got some really cool referrals this week.
Got to go on exchanges with one of my old companions. Ate taco bell. Taught some fire lessons! Found some crazy people! Had a dinner with an inactive member and non member fiance who has some PTSD from her past religions but she liked the Plan of Salvation. Got bashed! Normal exchange type vibes.
Ran into a nice cat
