keys to my friends house

Hello everyone! What a great week! Our friend Gary got baptized this sunday! Our friend Belen came and really liked it and that was the 2nd baptism she's come to so we hope she accepts our invitations soon. She says she's looking for her answer.

-We also had interviews with President Rodriquez on friday and we went over some really good stuff about my area and took some stress off my shoulders. After the interview he asked if I can get my companion and he told us something he has been trying to tell the whole mission and he said "Elders, there's something that was mentioned in the last mission leadership seminar. President Holland told us 'If you're not finding joy, then you are missing the point'". Pretty inspiring. He also mentioned to not let anyone else determine how we feel joy.

-We had a miracle and found this guy who was deaf. He spoke really well but i still got to pull out some of my High School Sign Language with him. His name was Tony and he wanted us to come and teach him and to come to church. He said he wants to bring his mother in law to church and how some family of his were members and how we're going about the Lords work. Probably will have to teach some Word of Wisdom next though.

-We talked to our friend Bob and he was impressed on how well I throw darts. Then we talked about the deep stuff like what we're doing here on earth and where we go after we die. We were trying to help understand that it is possible to know now but he kept saying "well i guess we'll figure out after we die". He said he'd come to church and bring his friends that he lives with. By the way they are all probably close to 70 if not more and Bob is missing part of his hand so they are pretty cool. Well we sadly did not see him at church.

-Also this week one of our members wanted to take us out to lunch with our friend Gary and went so well. Then we had a member meal that night and they took us to the same place for dinner and that was pretty cool! (Cool Cats)

-2 of our friends accepted baptismal dates and 1 of them we have not met yet.

Spiritual Thought
I was listening to a talk and it was about the Aaronic priesthood. The speaker talked about how in the sacrament prayer we receive instruction and I thought about how we also receive instruction in other ordinances. I specifically thought of Confirmation when we are told to receive the Holy Ghost and I always thought of it as a 'command', however, I cherish the thought of how we are 'instructed'. Now in my mind I picture a loving God proffering this gift and us accepting it into our lives. Then, through us following the instructions, we are then CHANGED and become different because at the end of the day it is not what we DO but what we have BECOME that matters!

ALSO a funny moment that happened during Gary's baptism was when Elder Sweeny was saying the prayer he started as if Gary was dead and there was an audible chuckle from the people who were there. Afterwards a member made the joke that Elder Sweeny almost killed Gary!
